Water Works General Manager

Duties and Responsibilities: Under administrative direction of the Board of Trustees performs administrative tasks requiring advanced judgment and ingenuity and does related work as assigned; prepares for and attends Board of Trustees, committee and other meetings and responds to requests from the board of trustees; administers board of trustees policies relating to new construction; performs direct supervision of subordinate employees; forecasts future trends and plans for future requirements; reviews engineering documents, plans and plats prepared by others, as needed; coordinates the work of engineering and legal consultants; prepares and disseminates various kinds of written correspondence; coordinates training and continuing education programs; prepares the annual budget, with input from other employees; works in concert with other city departments, outside agencies and companies; resolves unusual or complex customer relations problems; serves as personnel officer; responsible for written policies and procedures; associated with the water works; responsible for a variety of public relations and community information tasks designed to keep customers, media and organizations which interact with the water works informed on activities and policies; performs or assists in performing engineering design of projects originating within the water works; computes economic justification for projects; performs other duties as assigned.
